My path to becoming an educator is a long and winding one. Out of High School I joined the United States Marine Corps. After my honorable discharge I took advantage of the GI bill and earned Bachelors of Science in Business from the University of Idaho. During college I worked at Fab Tec Inc. and I ran track earning a varsity letter each of my four years on the team, and two conference championships. After graduation I was an operations officer at the Bank of Commerce. An opportunity came up to be a database manager and information technology specialist back at the University of Idaho, so I returned. Another opportunity arose with MD Totco in Kingsville Texas, installing electronic drilling recorders on oil and gas exploration rigs. Another opportunity arose at Fort Bliss teaching soldiers about the Army’s information systems. That position turned into an opportunity to teach Modern Army Combatives. From the time I earned a leadership position in the USMC until now I experienced my greatest success and joy when teaching. After 26 years in the workforce I decided to pursue a career as a teacher.
I look forward to meeting and working with each student and your parents. I have high expectations for you, and demand high quality work from you. In return you may expect the same from me.
